Thyroid

An ultrasound of the thyroid is a noninvasive imaging technique used to visualize the interior structure of the thyroid gland. The butterfly-shaped thyroid gland is positioned in the front of the neck and produces hormones that control the body’s metabolism and energy levels. At Radiant Medical Imaging, we use cutting-edge ultrasound technology to produce detailed and accurate images of the thyroid and any potential problems.

Our highly trained and experienced technologists are dedicated to providing you with the highest level of care and comfort during your examination. They will explain the procedure and answer any questions you may have and will make sure you are as comfortable as possible during the scan. The ultrasound itself is painless and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Ultrasound of the thyroid can be used to diagnose and assess a variety of thyroid disorders, including nodules, cysts, and thyroiditis. In addition, it can be used to monitor the therapy of thyroid cancer and to guide thyroid gland biopsies. The ultrasound data will be evaluated by one of our radiologists, and a report will be provided to your referring doctor.
