Radiant Medical Imaging offers screening and diagnostic mammography at our North York Downsview location at Keele and Wilson.
We are proud to participate in the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP), making routine breast cancer screening more accessible for eligible patients.
A doctor’s referral is not required for eligible OBSP screening.
Women ages 40 to 74 who meet OBSP eligibility requirements can contact us directly to book their screening mammogram.

Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP)
The Ontario Breast Screening Program provides publicly funded breast cancer screening to eligible Ontario residents.
Routine mammograms can help detect breast cancer at an early stage, sometimes before symptoms can be felt or noticed.
Eligible patients can self refer directly to Radiant Medical Imaging without obtaining a mammogram requisition from their doctor or nurse practitioner.
Who Can Self Refer for an OBSP Mammogram?
You may be eligible for OBSP screening if you:
• Are between 40 and 74 years old
• Are eligible for publicly funded health care in Ontario
• Have no new or acute breast symptoms
• Have no personal history of breast cancer
• Are not currently being followed for a breast abnormality
Additional eligibility requirements may apply. Our staff can help determine whether you should be booked through OBSP or require a diagnostic mammogram.

Preparing for Your Mammogram
On the day of your mammogram:
• Do not apply deodorant, antiperspirant, talcum powder, lotion or similar products around your breasts or underarms.
• Consider wearing a two piece outfit since you will need to remove clothing from the waist up.
• If your breasts are particularly tender at certain times of the month, consider scheduling your appointment when they are less sensitive.
• Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your appointment to allow time for registration.
If you have had previous mammograms at another imaging facility, please let us know when booking your appointment.
What to Expect During Your Mammogram
During your examination, a trained mammography technologist will position each breast on the mammography unit.
The breast is compressed briefly while images are taken. Compression helps produce clear images and keeps the radiation dose as low as reasonably achievable.
The examination itself is generally quick, although appointment times can vary depending on the images required.
Your images will be reviewed by a radiologist.
